Dentures are used to replace missing teeth. Various materials and denture types can be used to restore damaged tooth structure, missing teeth, or entire rows of teeth. If a damaged tooth is left untreated and the condition worsens, tooth loss may occur. A defective crown, a missing tooth, or multiple missing teeth can be restored using prosthetic dental solutions, including veneers, overlays, crowns, bridges, removable dentures, or implant-supported dentures.

Dental prosthetics at SANA Dental Clinic are performed in the following cases:

Fixed dentures are permanent and do not need to be removed. They are securely attached to the remaining tooth structure, restoring both function and aesthetics.

Removable dentures offer a fast and convenient way to replace missing teeth, whether one, several, or all. They must be taken out for cleaning, and their stability relies on the remaining teeth and gum-covered bone structures.

At SANA, dentures are crafted using cutting-edge technology for optimal precision and quality. With state-of-the-art equipment and high-quality materials, we achieve outstanding results in both function and aesthetics. All necessary examinations are conducted in one location for your convenience. Our specialists will recommend the most appropriate prosthetic treatment for you during your consultation.

Fixed dentures

Dental veneers

Dental veneers are ultra-thin ceramic shells (0.3-0.5 mm thick) designed to cover the front surfaces of teeth. Their minimal thickness means little enamel needs to be removed, preserving the tooth’s natural structure. They retain their shine and colour over time, offering long-lasting results.

Inlays and onlays

The loss of multiple molars or back teeth increases the risk of fractures and decay. In some cases, fillings alone are insufficient to restore tooth anatomy, function, and aesthetics. For such cases, inlays or onlays (micro-prosthetics) are used to restore the chewing surfaces of molars and back teeth. These ceramic restorations are custom-made by dental technicians in a laboratory.

In addition to restoring function and aesthetics, they help reinforce the tooth’s strength.

Dental crowns and bridges (on natural teeth and implants)

These permanent restorations are either cemented onto natural teeth or secured onto implants. A dental crown is a cap placed over a severely damaged tooth to restore its shape and function. A dental bridge replaces multiple missing teeth in a row when implants are not an option. This bridge is placed on the polished teeth. Implant-supported restorations involve attaching a crown or denture to dental implants. This modern technique enables the replacement of a single tooth without affecting neighbouring teeth.

Removable dentures

Partial and full dentures

Partial dentures replace several missing teeth, while full dentures are used when all teeth are missing. A key benefit of these dentures is their affordability. They are also quick to produce and easy to adjust or repair. While they aid in chewing and aesthetics, they do not prevent jawbone loss. Traditional dentures rely on gum support and often require adhesive, but they can feel unstable and may shift or fall out.

Arch-supported dentures

Removable arch-supported dentures feature a slim metal base customised to the mouth’s shape, allowing for better comfort and speech. They are secured to healthy teeth using clasps or precision attachments. This type of denture restores chewing function quite well, as it distributes the chewing load to all the remaining supporting teeth and not just the mucosa.

Implant-supported removable dentures

These dentures function like traditional removable dentures but are stabilised with implants. They should be removed and cleaned daily, especially overnight. Their key advantage over standard dentures is their secure attachment to implants. A minimum of two implants is required for stability. At least two implants are used for this prosthetic method. The main advantage of this method is its low cost compared to removable dentures and its greater comfort compared to conventional dentures.

Your questions

How much do dentures cost?

The estimated treatment plan and cost will be discussed at your initial consultation. Flexible payment options may be available if needed.

What is unique about dentures at SANA?

Dr Domantas Girskis and his team oversee the entire process, from the initial consultation to the final prosthetic placement. This approach ensures seamless treatment and fosters a long-term relationship with the patient. We incorporate digital technology into our treatment process. This minimises the number of appointments and procedures, enabling faster, more efficient dental restoration without compromising quality.

What materials are used for dental crowns?

Dental crowns, as well as more conservative restorations like veneers and overlays, are typically made from ceramic. Modern ceramics closely resemble natural enamel in their biological, optical, chemical, and physical properties, making them the preferred choice.

How do I look after my teeth after getting dentures?

Fixed dentures and crowns should be maintained like natural teeth, using a toothbrush, interdental brushes, and a water flosser.

Can I get reimbursement for dentures from the National Health Insurance Fund?

SANA Dental Clinic offers reimbursement for prosthetic services through its agreement with the Territorial Health Insurance Fund (THIF). The prosthetic dental services and the reimbursement process follows the current guidelines of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund (CHIF).
